UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has decided to extend the post of Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Karake Karenzi. Maj. Gen. Karenzi, from Rwanda, has been accused of overseeing troops that were responsible for the Rwandan genocide in the 90’s. Currently, he is the second highest commander in the AU-UN mission in Darfur, where he is supposedly combating genocide. After all, who better to combat a problem than someone who was also a cause.
