Peruvian Shamans in the Tank

Filed under: ACORN, Barack Obama, John McCain, Peru, Presidential Election 2008 — The Elitist @ 2:23 pm

Peruvian faith healers performed a ceremony and 9 of the 11 predicted a victory for Obama. According to the latest polls, it seems to be about the same ratio here in the States. The president of the healers association said that Obama was protected by the spirits of MLK and JFK, and presumably others whose names are commonly abbreviated by initials. Now that the shamans have cleansed the campaign of evil spirits, we no longer have to worry about voter disenfranchisement or fraud. Republicans Now Committing Voter Fraud

Filed under: ACORN, Presidential Election 2008 — The Elitist @ 10:11 am

ACORN is destroying democracy. We all know this. But not to be outdone, a Republican group in California has decided to do the same. The group, Young Political Majors, has been registering people as Republicans, without their knowledge! Apparently, YPM was getting people to sign what they thought was a petition against child molesters. Instead it changed their party affiliation to Republican, or signed them up for an absentee ballot without their knowledge. Those who changed parties will not be able to vote in the Democratic primaries next election. Those who signed up for absentee ballots won’t be able to vote at the booths on November 4th.

What is the full nature of Barack Obama’s relationship with this organization?

Why is ACORN Pissing Off Racists?

This whole ACORN mess has really heated some people up. That, and the scary Palin hate rallies. Here is a special voicemail left on ACORN’s machine since the group has decided to destroy the fabric of American democracy:

“Hi, I was just calling to let you all know that Barack Obama needs to get hung. He’s a fucking nigger, and he’s a piece of shit. You guys are fraudulent, and you need to go to hell. All the niggers on oak trees. They’re gonna get all hung honeys, they’re gonna get assassinated, they’re gonna get killed.”

Voters Be Damned

Filed under: ACORN, Presidential Election 2008 — The Elitist @ 2:21 pm

Since time immemorial, the two party system has been defined by one simple fact: Democrats will do anything to get more people voting, and Republicans will do anything to stop people from voting. Today’s battle is between ACORN and the Ohio GOP. ACORN has been registering people to vote who do not exist, and others who do exist numerous times. The Ohio GOP has been fighting a court battle to throw out new registrations, as they do every election. Which one of these mighty organizations will win?

John McCain called ACORN the largest threat to democracy during the last debate, for their efforts at registering new voters. This is a reference to the allegations that ACORN registered some voters numerous times, and others that didn’t exist. Clearly, Mickey Mouse will not show up at the polls to vote, but if he’s registered, then democracy is ruined. The McCain campaign has been pushing the ACORN issue extensively and asking about Barack Obama’s relationship with the organization. Obama, for his part, has called for a special prosecutor to look into the case. Obama has had some connections with the organization, but the real question is what is the nature of John McCain’s relationship with ACORN? After all, in 2006 he was the keynote speaker at the annual ACORN rally. This whole mess clearly falls into the FAIL category.

That leaves the GOP battle to throw out newly registered voters. The argument is based on the Help America Vote Act which requires newly registered voters’ information to be matched with other state records. Of course, state records don’t even match each other, much less some of the new registrations. So the GOP wanted to throw out 200,000 voters before the elections. How did it turn out? FAIL. The U.S. Supreme Court denied the request and sent the voters back to the polls.

Every election Republicans try to disenfranchise voters, and very often get away with it. But maybe George Will was right when he said that “the quality of the electoral turnout declines when the quantity is increased by ‘convenience voting’.” The real threat to democracy is not ACORN, but the American voter. We should limit the people who can vote, thus increasing the quality of our voters. We’ll start by kicking out elderly voters, as they are simply too old to know what’s going on. Then those who vote on purely religious bases, because this is a secular country. Finally, we will disenfranchise anyone making more than $1 million per year, because they are looking at improving their wallets over the public interest. Unfortunately for Republicans, they no longer have any voters. Democrats – think about it.
