Iranian Minister Impeached

Filed under: Barack Obama, Iran, John McCain, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — The Elitist @ 12:28 pm

Barack Obama’s wasn’t the only election to shake things up. Iran’s parliament voted yesterday to impeach Interior Minister Ali Kordan for lying and corruption. The initial introduction of the impeachment led to an actual fist-fight. This is one of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s guys and the impeachment puts him one step closer to putting his entire cabinet up for review by the parliament. All this, and Ahmadinejad has an election coming up in June. Ahmadinejad is widely considered to be a religious nut who uses nationalism to keep power and push through his crazy agenda. Just like President Bush. And just like President Bush, he will probably be voted out of office and replaced with a historic figure that breaks all cultural boundaries. Iran will vote for an old white Christian, possibly John McCain.

Fist Fight in Iran

Filed under: Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — The Elitist @ 1:36 pm

A parliamentary fist fight broke out in Iran over a move to impeach the Interior Minister.  Interior Minister Ali Kordan has been accused of lying about receiving an honorary degree from Oxford University. The opposition decided to impeach him and then the presidential liaison to the parliament, Mohammad Abbasi, started handing out $5,000 checks to parliamentarians who would sign a petition promising not to impeach. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad clearly wants his minister to stay in place and is willing to pay anything to keep him there. After all, if he loses anymore ministers then he’ll have to put his entire cabinet up for review by the parliament. Anyway, this led to presidential liaison Abassi and a lawmaker getting into a fist fight that shows the world how well run Iranian government really is. How could we not trust them with the bomb?
